Galatians 6:9

Let us not grow weary of doing good for in due season we will reap, if we do not give up. Galatians 6:9

How could this not be encouraging? There are very many days where I am just worn down with the monotony of daily life. It's just go go go, sleep, go go go, day in and day out. It's easy to become weary when you see that all the good you do doesn't have much to reap, whereas others who do not harvest well get lots of rewards. I think this verse is great encouragement as it reminds us that our good will make a difference whether it be today, or not until next week, or not until 10 year from now. We will reap a harvest from God. We just may not see the direct effects of our goodness. I think of the commercial that starts with someone holding the door open for someone else, then that act of grace made that second person do something good for a third person, and it continued down the line. The first person will not know what their goodness opened up for the 10th person. But it shouldn't stop him/her from doing the act. We should do things in God's name daily and unconditional, without hoping to reap rewards from it. Our reward is eternal.

Dear Lord, thank you for the constant reminders that I am not alone. Thank you for the energy to continue my days in pursuit of you. I lift up those who feel so overwhelmed that they do not think they can go any further. Being the light to their life Lord, to help them out of the darkness.
